How and where do I modify the text for the mail subscribe list plugin? Currently it reads:

“Subscribe now to get notified about exclusive offers from Jegthemes every Weeks!”

I want to change it so that it reads:

“Subscribe now to get notified about exclusive offers from us every Week!”

    Thank you

    Hi Rai
I don’t think the thread author means translation.

Currently in the default theme, the text above the subscribe form states “Subscribe now to get notified about exclusive offers from Jegthemes every Weeks!”

He and I would like to change these words.

Could you please advice on how we can go about doing so?

    Thanks!

hi jeraldinephneah, yes rai is right. you can change the text by using translation feature on WordPress. you can use PO Editor to translate (or change) the word (string)

    Thank you

I have downloaded the plugin and activated it – loco translate.

However I am not able to change the words. Can you please explain to me step by step on how to do this?

    Thank you!

Please ignore my earlier question. I managed to do this on my own but in my blog at http://www.jeraldinephneah.me the email address bar looks really big and the subscribe button also sticks to the email address bar.

Is there away to change this?

    This is my footer code

hi jeraldine, im sorry to make it sound over complicated, but its how WordPress do translation.

ok let me explain clearly you how it should done.

    • you should download PO file that reside on falive themes folder > lang > en_US.po.
    • before that you may ask, where is falive themes folder, its normally on your server root folder > wp-content > themes > falive-themes
    • now you will need to open the file, and you will need to download PO editor. https://poedit.net/
    • Now from PO file you download previously, you can make change that you need, and you will need to generate MO file using those Po editor.
    • then you need to upload both file (PO & MO) to your themes folder directory
    • and congratulation, you now can translate WordPress

i also feel the same like you, translation on WordPress is not a “easy” think to do. even for developer.

previously they have very handy plugin named “codestyling localization” to make translation or string change or whatever you call it easier. but unfortunately the developer have stop the development of those plugin.

we still have the plugin, but we don’t know if it still work on with latest wordpress version. you can download it here : http://jegtheme.com/download/codestyling-localization.zip . by using this plugin you dont need to care all step that i write above.

i will suggest you not to change directly on the file code. try to use default themes file instead of changing it. next time when i update the themes, you will lost your change. like today i made some fix on the code, and if you update the themes, you will lost all your change.

    Thank you
