    Hi!

Is there a way to make a blog archive look like the portfolio list page?
I know that there are two options in the backend to make it look “normal” or “masonry” but both of the styles dont fit into my page concept because iam using the Portfolio categories as mainmenu items.
    so its like:
    portfolio
    >photography
    >3D
    >UX / IxD
    >Music

But when you click the subelements of portfolio it ends on an archive page…

so, is it possible to make the archive look like portfolio list page?
    or
to reroute the target to filtered portfolio list page maybe?

its no problem to get my hands dirty, so if you just could tell me which php´s i have to merge ill do it…
but maybe its more simple than i think…

    looking forward to suggestions,

    cheers

    Hi Sore6,

Sorry, currently Jkreativ archive page is for blog post. If you want to create for portfolio you may need to create archive-portfolio.php which is located same as default archive.php.

    Best regards,

    Rai

    hi rai,

    this plugin https://github.com/mandiwise/isotope-posts
allows the user to filter with isotope and get a unique URL for a filter
so you can switch a page on the website and get right into a filtered page!
i saw that you use isotope too.
is this possible with the template?
theres is a filter list but it seems to reload the portfolio items and it returns no URL its just something else.

hope you can help me out here because its the last part of my page that i need to fix!
your template is really really mighty and great to handle so far, but this isotope topic bugs me!

    Hello @sore6,

That’s true that Jkreativ use isotope for layouting, but I’m not sure it will be compatible with those plugin that you mentioned. It may needs some changes to integrate that plugin with jkreativ layout. So you need to hire web developer who able to do it for you.

    Thank you

    hi rai,

i dont want to have that plugin compatible with anything. it was just an example of what isotope can do too.
is this plugin customized to get urls from filters or is your version of isotope customized in the template?

the plugin fetches the items like this:

can you tell me in which .php i can find the jkreativ theme equivalent for fetching the portfolio cover images and titles etc?
i guess its the portfolio list page but i cant figure out which php file it is.
i think ill edit the plugin because of the portfolio items (instead of pages) the normal wp commands dont work.
and it seems to me that the isotope version in the jkreativ theme isnt capable of giving out URLs for filtering isnt it?

    best regards

    Hi @sore6,

Like I was said above, you need to create file archive-portfolio.php as your Portfolio archive list, then you should implement portfolio list into those file. FYI, isotope is script use for layouting (masonry grid), it doesn’t do anything with permalink or URL structure or any backend processing.

    Thank you

    Sore6,

Did you ever get a “pre-filtered” portfolio list page to work? This is really missing from the options on this template. I can’t seem to find the “archive-portfolio.php” file example code. I’m not a php programmer, so if there is a relatively simple solution….

    Thanks

    hi cannon,

the template may be huge but it has some features which are not final imho.
the pre filtered portfolio option is such an example.

i didnt get it to work

i tried very much but couldnt achive it.
the “archive portfolio.php” tip didnt helped me at all.
i dont know what the guys mean. theres no such file.
maybe they say we have to code it ourself.

my page wont have such feature for now.
its very sad but maybe in SOME update they will make this happen.

i found a useful plugin which gets links out of filters:
    maybe it helps you: http://mandiwise.com/project/isotope-posts/
    https://github.com/mandiwise/isotope-posts

its easy to set up but because of the huge customization of the regtheme guys it doesnt get the thumbnails and stuff…

    you will see

    Hi @sore6,

It will needs some customization to achieve your needs, of course it need technical skill or you can hire web developer to achieve that. Those file I mentioned above is file that you need to create in order to create custom portfolio archive template.

    Thank you

    Hi Rai,

yeah sure, technical skill is needed.
Sadly I am no good coder so i couldn´t get it to work.
But maybe in the future its in the theme.

Until then i try to work around that 😉

    regards
