Archive Page + Ajax Search Pro not showing results
Post count: 11180AdekDecember 4, 2018 at 4:38 pm #40305
I’ve been disabling the previous change that i made on the staging site. I’m not sure yet but maybe there’s plugin conflict issue in there. It seems i will need to disable several plugins for further checking in there.

So I did a bit more digging. I disabled the AJax search pro plugin, and ran the https://staging-derekseamanblog.kinsta.cloud/?s=sql query. It did display results for SQL, BUT each page of the results is the *same*. That’s not normal is it?
I will follow up with the search author about the redirect URL.Post count: 11180AdekDecember 6, 2018 at 11:22 am #40411
I’ve been fixed that issue, you can check it out. In this case, i think you’re using the custom archive template feature from our plugin for the search page, right? Because at the moment the custom archive template will not fully support for the search page.

When clicking on ‘more results’ it still hangs and times out. That only happened with the code changes in your plugin. I do see the ‘second page’ results works….will that fix be in an official code update of your plugin?Post count: 11180AdekDecember 6, 2018 at 12:13 pm #40422
I think I’ve been explaining about redirect on “more results” button previously (http://support.jegtheme.com/forums/topic/archive-page-ajax-search-pro-not-showing-results/page/2/#post-40371). Have you reach the ajax search pro plugin author regarding this issue?
It seems you do not answer my question on above. Did you using the custom archive template feature from our plugin for the search page, right?

I don’t know how/where to set what comes up as the search page. That’s beyond my WP knowledge. I can’t test the redirection issue because of the plugin code changes that causes PHP to get stuck in a loop.Post count: 37dseaman858December 6, 2018 at 12:40 pm #40427
On my production page this is the redirection that I get when clicking on ‘more results’:
https://www.derekseaman.com/?s=UCS&asp_active=1&p_asid=3&p_asp_data=Y3VycmVudF9wYWdlX2lkPTQwMTMmcXRyYW5zbGF0ZV9sYW5nPTAmYXNwX2dlbiU1QiU1RD10aXRsZSZhc3BfZ2VuJTVCJTVEPWNvbnRlbnQmYXNwX2dlbiU1QiU1RD1leGNlcnB0JmN1c3RvbXNldCU1QiU1RD1wb3N0Post count: 37dseaman858December 6, 2018 at 12:45 pm #40428
I’ve modified the search redirect so that it doesn’t have the long redirect string. See if that helps you out.Post count: 11180AdekDecember 7, 2018 at 10:43 am #40462
The search page is using this template https://staging-derekseamanblog.kinsta.cloud/wp-admin/post.php?post=4299&action=elementor. Since you’re using a custom archive template, the search page layout will customizable. It’s why there is some issues before with post result page.
Previously i’ve been checking your website but i still getting a redirect when clicking ‘more results’ button. This is the correct url for search page
https://staging-derekseamanblog.kinsta.cloud/?s=sqland also i notice on the ‘more results’ button there’s no url link in there. You can check this image https://www.dropbox.com/s/yzhkyb1rf2o80w3/Screenshot%202018-12-07%2010.40.04.png?dl=0. It seems we need to fill the href attribute or override ‘more results’ button behavior.

Is the HREF issue why it’s broken? I changed the redirect so it just uses /s?=xxxPost count: 37dseaman858December 7, 2018 at 11:28 am #40466
I’m still quite confused on what’s going on here, but I do appreciate your help. If I do this:
I don’t get SQL results. That’s the same website that’s in staging that you were working on. And has nothing to do with the ‘more results’ issue, as I just directly enter in that URL in the browser. And the second page still comes up as the first page results.

For your live site, please make sure if you have been doing this change http://support.jegtheme.com/forums/topic/archive-page-ajax-search-pro-not-showing-results/#post-40277. Because i don’t make any changes yet on your live site before.
I will try to add the missing href attribute value on the ‘more results’ button on the staging site. I will let you know when I’ve done. Please be patient for a while.

But that change causes major PHP errors and crashes the site when doing a search.
